Tasmanian Rainforest - Think Tank Online Demo Reel 2019

Over a year and a half ago I moved to Australia and in that time I started learning 3D asset creation, particularly environment art, through Think Tank Online. For my mentorship project with Jason Gullion (jasongullion.artstation.com), I decided to recreate the beautiful and primeval cool temperate rainforests throughout Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand.

Previously, I had been a scientist (geologist), so a lot of research went into trying to correctly ID the vegetation so the scene would be as accurate as possible, though I was combining experiences from southeastern Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand.

All of the assets and materials were created by myself, except the ground material and three minor atlases were gathered from Megascans and not replaced due to lack of time. I really enjoyed working on this project and loved learning more about the vegetation creation process.
